a) Data stored locally on your device

The app uses a local database (Room) and a local preferences store (DataStore) that live entirely inside the app's private storage on your phone. None of the following ever leaves your device or is transmitted to us:

b) Data collected automatically by Google AdMob

The app shows banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, Google's SDK may automatically collect technical and advertising data such as your Advertising ID, device/OS information, IP address, and ad interaction events. This collection is performed by Google, not by us — see the Advertising section below for full details and opt-out instructions.

To be explicit, Cup & Gram does not:

• Require or support account creation, sign-in, or login of any kind
• Collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
• Access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or precise location
• Sync any data to a cloud server we operate — there is no backend server at all
• Track your activity across other apps or websites
• Sell your data to anyone, because we don't collect any to sell

Cup & Gram is monetized using Google AdMob, which serves:

Interstitials are shown at natural break points (for example, after converting a full recipe) and are capped to roughly once every 3 minutes so they don't get in your way.

AdMob is Google's advertising service, and it operates under Google's own privacy and data practices. When ads are requested and displayed, Google's SDK can collect and process:

• Your device's Advertising ID (a resettable identifier, not tied to your name)
• Device attributes (model, OS version, screen size, language, network/carrier)
• Approximate location derived from IP address
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, viewability)

This data is used by Google to serve relevant ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. We do not receive or store this ad-related data ourselves — it is processed by Google under its own policies:

• Google Privacy Policy
• How Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services
• Google Ads Settings (manage ad personalization)

Opting out of personalized ads

You can limit ad personalization at the device level:

1. Open your Android device's Settings
2. Go to Privacy & security > Ads (or Google > Ads on some devices)
3. Turn on "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or reset your Advertising ID

Opting out means you'll still see ads (the app still needs them to stay free), but they'll be less tailored to your interests.

Cup & Gram requests the minimum permissions needed for ads to function. Here's exactly what each one does:

The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, or SMS permissions.

All app data (conversion history, recipe history, favorites, and preferences) is stored using Android's standard app-private storage mechanisms (Room database and Jetpack DataStore), sandboxed to the app by the Android operating system. This data:

• Is never transmitted to us or to any server we control — there is no such server
• Is not accessible to other apps on your device (enforced by Android's app sandboxing)
• Is automatically removed when you uninstall the app
• Can be cleared anytime in-app via "Clear history" (Favorites screen) or "Reset Preferences to Default" (Settings screen)

Because nothing sensitive is transmitted off-device by us, there is no server-side breach risk tied to your usage data. Standard Android OS-level protections (app sandboxing, and device encryption where enabled) apply to the local storage as they would for any app.

Cup & Gram is a general-audience kitchen/cooking utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad serving through Google AdMob is configured in line with Google Play's Families and child-safety policies. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the details below so we can address it.

Because almost all data stays on your device, you're already in control. Specifically, you can:

• Clear your conversion/recipe history anytime from within the app
• Reset all preferences to defaults from the Settings screen
• Opt out of personalized advertising via your device's Ads settings (see Advertising)
• Reset or limit your device's Advertising ID at any time in Android system settings
• Uninstall the app to permanently remove all locally stored app data

If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), note that since we do not operate any servers and do not collect personally identifiable information ourselves, most data-subject requests are already satisfied by the local controls above. For requests specifically about data Google's AdMob SDK processes, you can exercise your rights directly with Google via the links in the Advertising section.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we do not collect any personal data on our own servers to begin with. The only data flow to a third party is the ad-serving data described in the Advertising section, which is collected directly by Google's AdMob SDK on your device under Google's own privacy practices, not handed off by us.

Cup & Gram is available to users globally. Since the app itself stores data only locally on your device and does not transmit it to us, there is no cross-border transfer of your usage data by us. Ad-serving data handled by Google's AdMob SDK may be processed on Google's infrastructure in accordance with Google's own international data transfer safeguards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature or a change in how ads are handled. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
